Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
Start with the editing work. WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to change most of the site without a developer. Its plugins offer a wide choice of features, but someone needs to keep the installation updated for security. Decide who will do that work before choosing it.
A custom-coded site in Next.js suits a business that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits. Your team can still have a content editor, while a developer handles structural changes. That division is useful to agree before the build: editing a service description and changing the page structure are different jobs.
The decision comes down to how your team will use the site after launch. List the pages you expect to update, how often they change and who will make those changes. We recommend an approach after understanding how your team works, so the editing setup fits the people responsible for keeping the site current.
Local
What Reno businesses need from their websites
Reno’s casino and tourism businesses need visitors to find a way to make contact. A mobile call button and a form sent to the person handling enquiries give visitors a clear next step; the form confirmation should also tell them what happens after they submit it.
Distribution businesses in the greater Reno area need to make their capabilities easy to assess. Product or capability pages, certifications and downloadable specifications give buyers useful detail before they request a quote, while a quote form can collect enough information for a considered response.
Companies headquartered in Reno need service information that visitors can scan and staff can keep current. A considered set of clear service pages gives the site a manageable structure without copying every page from an older website.
Rules
What a website project in the United States needs to handle
For a business open to the public, accessibility affects the website as well as the service offered through it. We set up a clear heading structure, labelled forms and keyboard access, and use WCAG as guidance when reviewing the site.
If your project includes commercial email, we set up the email footer with a valid physical postal address and a clear opt-out. We also agree who will handle opt-out requests, including requests from business recipients.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 13h30m ahead of Pacific time in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. Shared updates keep decisions visible across that difference.
- 01
Discover
You explain who buys from you, why they choose you and what you want visitors to do. We use those answers to shape the sitemap and agree what the project needs to cover.
- 02
Design
We prepare wireframes before the visual design. You review the content and its order first; we then develop desktop and mobile page designs and refine them with your feedback.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in code or with an editable content management system, then test it on real devices and browsers. Your team reviews the pages and supplies any remaining content.
- 04
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console. Your team gets a walkthrough, with a chance to see how the site is managed and where its settings live.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these details so we can discuss the work around your actual content and priorities.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS, plus your brand colours and fonts.
- A ranked list of the services or products you want to feature.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a reason for each choice.
- Account logins, or the names of the people holding them.
- Photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- Your main website goal and who will handle each type of enquiry.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timing of website design and development
The work depends on what has to be designed, built, moved and checked.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages using the same template.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, multiple languages and CRM connections add build and testing work.
Content migration
Moving news archives, blog posts and downloads from an old site adds transfer and checking work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design work compared with deciding the colours, typefaces and logo during the project.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Reno
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to get a website built?
There is no fixed price. The choice between a custom design and an adapted template, the content you need to gather, and a separate editor that needs hosting and maintenance all affect the work. We send a free quote once we have agreed the scope with you.
Could I use a website builder instead?
Yes. Wix, Squarespace and Webflow suit a small site that you want to run yourself. The trade-off is less control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding. Consider who will maintain the site and how much control they need before choosing a builder.
Will I own the website after launch?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, your business retains control of its accounts when responsibilities change.
Is web development still worth it for a business website?
It is worth assessing against what you need visitors to do. Track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks in analytics, then check which pages those enquiries started from. Before launch, also check for missing page titles, the sitemap and any indexing block left over from development.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We can build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Give us the real headings and paragraphs early too: content that is longer or shorter than placeholder text can change how a finished-looking layout fits.
