Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a hosted builder?
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site you want to run on your own. You have less control over code and speed, though, and moving away later can mean rebuilding the site. Consider who will make structural changes as well as who will update the words and images.
WordPress suits a team that edits a lot of content itself. A custom Next.js site suits a business that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits, and is happy to involve a developer for structural changes. It can still have an editor. We recommend an option after learning how your team works.
A headless setup is another option when you need both a custom front end and substantial editing. It pairs that front end with a separate content editor, giving you more moving parts to host and maintain. Consider that ongoing work alongside the editing flexibility when you discuss the scope with us.
Local
What Providence organisations need from a website
Health services are part of Providence’s economy. If you run a clinic or another appointment-based practice, your site needs clear service pages, practitioner profiles and opening hours, with a booking or call option that works on a phone. Trade is also part of the local economy: a B2B supplier needs capability or product pages, certifications, downloadable specifications and a quote form that asks for enough detail to respond.
The main campuses of five Rhode Island colleges and universities are in Providence. For an education organisation, a useful project starts with a clear sitemap and page structure, so visitors can find the relevant information and reach the right contact. Decide who owns each part of the site, from the page content through to launch.
Rules
Accessibility for a United States website
US guidance says the ADA covers the web goods and services of businesses open to the public, and points to WCAG as helpful guidance. Agree an accessibility target in the brief. We set up a clear heading structure and design desktop and mobile pages with that target in mind. WCAG has A, AA and AAA levels; the W3C encourages using its latest version. Agreeing the target early gives your team a reference when reviewing the work.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board keeps project work visible across that time difference.

- 02

We build in clean code or a CMS your team can edit, and test on real devices and browsers. Proofread each page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages.

We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the site.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring these details to make the scope discussion more useful.
- Your main goal, such as quote requests or calls, and who handles each enquiry.
- A ranked list of services or products for the home page and navigation.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each.
- Domain, hosting, email and analytics logins, or the names of their holders.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- A folder of case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials and certifications.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of a website project
The scope and readiness of your materials shape the work.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build work than pages that share a template.
Page scope
A shorter site with clear service pages is easier to keep current than a copy of every old or competitor page.
Content preparation
Service descriptions, team bios, case studies and photos need gathering; agree who writes and supplies each item early.
Design approach
A custom design fits specific brand or audience needs. An adapted template fits a simple site and tight brief, but still needs reworking around real content.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Providence
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The work changes with the readiness of your logo and style guide, the amount of copywriting or photography included, and the content that needs moving from an old site. News archives and downloadable files also need checking during migration. Agree those items in the scope before assessing a quote.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Share the assets you already use when we discuss the project, so the page designs can work with them and the scope reflects what is ready.
What is included in a search-ready build?
We include metadata, structured data, sitemaps and fast load times on every page. Search setup needs checking before launch: missing page titles, a missing sitemap or an indexing block left on from development can keep a new site out of search results. These checks do not promise a particular ranking.
Will we own the website and its accounts?
You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Your business should also hold the domain and hosting accounts in its own name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, you retain access without having to ask an agency for your site back.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. You should also decide who will update news, projects and job posts, and use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions. Checking which pages those enquiries started from gives you a practical way to assess the site.
