Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that wants to edit content frequently. It gives you an established way to manage pages without asking a developer for each change. A custom Next.js site suits a business that wants fast pages, security and a design without template limits; you can still have an editor, though structural changes are work for a developer. Think about who will make changes after launch and what they will need to change.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow is another option for a small site you want to run yourself. The trade-off is less control over code and speed, and moving away later can mean rebuilding the site. That flexibility may be worth considering before you put substantial content into a builder.
We recommend WordPress or a custom Next.js build after learning how your team works. Bring your editing needs to that conversation: the people updating the site should be comfortable with the choice.
Local
What Lubbock organisations need from their websites
Businesses involved in cotton growing and irrigation need visitors to understand their capabilities and products. Clear product pages, downloadable specifications and a quote form that asks for enough detail can help them respond to enquiries.
The Depot District has theatres, restaurants and cultural attractions. A venue or restaurant needs clear pages describing what it offers, opening hours and a call option that works on a phone, so visitors can find the practical details before getting in touch.
Texas Tech University is a major higher-education institution in the city. For an organisation with substantial content, a clear sitemap and page structure help visitors find their way, while an editor gives the organisation a way to keep its pages current.
Rules
Accessibility for a website in the United States
For a business open to the public, US Department of Justice guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We set an agreed WCAG accessibility target in your brief for the site’s pages and forms, using the latest version as the starting point. We record the chosen level with the project requirements before design approval, so the target is part of the work you agree to have built.
How it runs
How your website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and a shared project board. India is 10h30m to 13h30m ahead of the mainland US in winter, and one hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board gives both sides a place to leave feedback and keep work moving across that difference.

Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Start with real content so layouts fit the words you intend to publish.
- A goal for the site and the person responsible for each type of enquiry.
- A ranked list of the services or products you want to feature.
- Your logo in a vector format, brand colours and fonts, or a note that these need creating.
- Websites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Case studies, testimonials and client logos you have permission to show.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline?
Your editing needs shape the platform choice and the work in the brief.
Page templates
Distinct layouts take more design and build effort than pages that share a template.
Content readiness
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the work smaller; copywriting, photography or translation add to the scope.
Content migration
Moving blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an existing site adds migration and checking work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide reduce design effort compared with a brief where colours and typefaces still need decisions.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Lubbock
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The work depends on whether you need a custom design, how much content must be gathered or written, and whether the site needs a separate content editor. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed, so you can see what the proposed work covers.
Can you use our existing brand?
Yes. We build on your existing logo, colours and fonts, and prepare brand assets for the web where needed. Bring the assets you already use to the discussion so we can understand what is available and carry those visual choices into the website design.
What search setup is included?
A search-ready build includes page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure, an XML sitemap, structured data and fast pages. We account for these during the build. Before launch, the site also needs a check for an indexing block left over from development, which could keep it out of search results.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code. Your business should also hold the domain and hosting accounts in its own name and grant access to the people doing the work. That keeps control of those accounts with you when you need to make changes.
Who looks after the site after launch?
You should decide who on your team will update news, projects and job posts after launch. You can also use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from. Give someone responsibility for reviewing that information.
