Choosing
Should you choose WordPress or a custom website?
WordPress suits a team that edits a lot of its own content. A custom Next.js site is faster and more secure, and it can still include an editor. The choice starts with how your team works: who publishes content, how often they make changes and how much control they need.
A custom-coded site also gives you room for a design without template limits. It fits when you want fast pages and tight security and are happy for a developer to handle structural changes. Consider that ongoing arrangement when deciding how much of the site your team needs to change itself.
A headless setup pairs a custom front end with a separate content editor. It suits a site that needs speed alongside heavy editing, though it brings more moving parts to host and maintain. We recommend a route after understanding how your team works, so the editing arrangement fits the people who will use it.

What Cary businesses need from their websites
Cary has technology companies including SAS Institute and Epic Games. A startup introducing a product or raising money needs a plain explanation of what the product does, with a way for interested visitors to join a waitlist or book a demo.
Cary manufacturers make products including coatings and motion management devices. A manufacturer or supplier needs capability and product pages, certifications and downloadable specifications, plus a quote form that asks for enough detail to make a useful response.
Wake Technical Community College has its Western Wake Campus in Cary. An organisation with a campus needs a clear sitemap and page structure, with an owner for the content, forms and search setup from the start.
Rules
What a US website project needs to handle
For a business open to the public, US guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. Agree an accessibility target in the brief. WCAG has A, AA and AAA levels, and the W3C encourages using its latest version. We set up desktop and mobile page designs against the agreed target and refine them with your feedback.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time. The shared board keeps feedback and project work visible across that difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do. Those answers shape the sitemap.
- 02
Wireframe
We establish what goes on each page and in what order. Your feedback here focuses on content and priorities; colours come later.
- 03
Build
We develop the site in clean code or a content management system your team can edit, then test it on real devices and browsers.
- 04
Check
You proofread every page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages before the site goes live.
- 05
Launch
We set up the domain, email, analytics and Search Console, then walk your team through the handover.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Gather these items before the discussion so we can see what is ready and what still needs work.
- Your logo in SVG, AI or EPS format, plus brand colours and fonts.
- A list of services or products, ranked by business priority.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a short reason for each choice.
- Domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console logins, or the name of the person who holds them.
- Photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- Case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships in a folder.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and time of a website project
The work changes with the features, material and existing assets in your scope.
Features
Calculators, booking, member logins, several languages and CRM connections add design, build and testing work.
Content readiness
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the work smaller; adding copywriting, photography or translation expands it.
Existing content
Moving blog posts, news archives and downloadable files from an old site adds migration and checking work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide need less design work than a brand whose colours and typefaces are still being decided.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Cary
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The choice between an adapted template and a custom design, the content you need to gather and the editing control your team needs all shape the scope. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed. An adapted template still needs reworking around your real content.
Can our team edit the website after launch?
Yes. We provide an editor your team can use for pages, news, projects and careers without training. If you choose WordPress, its range of plugins gives you further options, but the site also needs regular updates to stay secure. Decide who will take responsibility for those updates.
What search setup is included?
We prepare page titles and descriptions, a clear heading structure, an XML sitemap, structured data and fast pages. This work takes less effort during the build than as a later fix. Before launch, check that an indexing block left over from development is removed so it does not keep the site out of search results.
Will we own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Keep the domain and hosting accounts in your business’s name and grant access to the people working on the site. That way, you retain control of the accounts as well as the material in the website itself.
What happens after the website launches?
We provide ongoing support after launch. Within your team, decide who will update news, projects and job posts. You can also use analytics to track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks as conversions, then check which pages those enquiries started from.
