Choosing
Should you choose WordPress, a custom site or a website builder?
WordPress suits a team that publishes often and wants to edit most of the site itself. Its plugins give you a wide choice of features, but someone needs to keep the installation updated for security. Decide who will take that responsibility before choosing it.
A custom-coded Next.js site suits a company that wants fast pages, tight security and a design without template limits. It can still have a content editor, although you should expect a developer to handle structural changes. We recommend an approach after learning how your team works.
A hosted builder such as Wix, Squarespace or Webflow suits a small site that you want to run yourself. You trade some control over code and speed for that convenience, and moving away later can mean rebuilding the site. Consider how much freedom you will need as well as who will make updates.
Local
What Athens businesses need from a website
Young technology companies in Athens need to explain their product plainly, particularly when they are launching or raising money. A site can give visitors a clear route to join a waitlist or book a demo.
Pharmaceutical manufacturers and biotechnology companies need space to show capabilities and product details. Pages for specifications and certifications, supported by a quote form that asks for useful information, give a potential buyer a practical next step.
For the unified Athens–Clarke County government, a website project needs clear ownership of the sitemap, page content, forms and launch work. Agreeing who handles each part helps the organisation prepare material for the build.
Rules
What a US website project needs to handle
For a business open to the public, US Department of Justice guidance says the ADA covers goods and services offered on the web and identifies WCAG as helpful guidance. We set an accessibility target in the brief, using the WCAG levels and the latest version as the reference for the page designs.
State and local government websites have a specific requirement: WCAG 2.1 Level AA. For that work, we set that level as the build target from the outset.
How it runs
How a website project runs with us
We are a studio in India and work remotely through video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards. India is 10h30m ahead of Eastern time in winter and 1 hour less during daylight saving time; the shared board keeps the work visible across that difference.
- 01
Discover
Tell us who buys from you, why they choose you and what visitors should do on the site. We use those answers to shape the sitemap.
- 02
Plan the pages
We arrange the content in wireframes before adding visual design. Your feedback here should focus on what belongs on each page and its order.
- 03
Build and test
We develop the site in code or with an editable CMS, then test it on real devices and browsers. You can review how the pages work.
- 04
Check before launch
You proofread every page, submit each form and confirm who receives its messages. This gives you a chance to catch small errors before visitors see them.
- 05
Launch and care
We handle the domain, email, analytics and search setup, followed by ongoing support. We agree the scope with you as the project begins.
Checklist
What to have ready before we talk
Bring what you have, with a person named for the decisions and enquiries.
- Your services or products, ranked by business priority.
- Sites you like and dislike, with a reason for each choice.
- Domain, hosting, email, analytics and Search Console logins, or the account holder’s name.
- Real photos of your team, premises and finished work.
- Case studies, permitted client logos, testimonials, certifications and memberships in one folder.
Cost & time
What affects the cost and timeline
The scope determines how much design, build and checking work is involved.
Features
Booking, calculators, member logins, extra languages and CRM connections add design, development and testing work.
Content readiness
Copy and photos ready to publish keep the scope smaller; writing, photography or translation add work.
Migration
Moving an archive of posts, news or downloads from an old site adds transfer and checking work.
Brand readiness
An existing logo and style guide need less design effort than a brand whose colours and typefaces are still being decided.

Questions
Asked by businesses in Athens
Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to have a website built?
There is no fixed price. The choice between an adapted template and a custom design, the work needed on your existing brand assets, and the content you need to gather all affect the scope. Decide early who will write service descriptions and supply photos. We send a free quote once the scope is agreed.
Is a new website worth the investment?
It is worth assessing against what you need the site to do. A shorter site with clear service pages is easier for visitors to scan and for your team to maintain. After launch, track form submissions, calls and WhatsApp clicks in analytics, and check which pages those enquiries started from.
Can my team update the website after launch?
Yes. We provide an editor for pages, news, projects and careers that your team can use without training. Choose who will keep those sections current after launch, especially if you publish job posts or news: an old newest post can make visitors wonder if you are still trading.
Will I own the website?
Yes. You own the domain, content and code, with no lock-in. Your business should also hold its domain and hosting accounts in its own name and grant access to the people working on the site. That keeps control of those accounts with you.
What should we check before the site goes live?
Review every page on a phone as well as a desktop, and check the search setup before launch. Missing page titles, a missing sitemap or an indexing block left from development can prevent a site appearing in search results. We also set up Search Console and provide a handover walkthrough.
