Hire iOS developers for your team in Austria
You get iOS development for your app, from Swift screens and background data loading to testing and release preparation. If your team in Austria has an existing app or a product to build, we help you turn a prioritised backlog into work your developer can pick up. At MSH Technologies, we work remotely from India and keep you in direct contact with the people building your product.

Skills
What a good iOS developer brings
Look for someone who can explain the choices behind a screen as well as write it. These skills give you practical ways to assess the work:
- Swift interfacesBuilds screens in SwiftUI and understands UIKit for existing apps and more complex screens.
- Background workUses async/await and actors to load data without freezing the interface or creating data races.
- Testable codeSeparates screens, business logic and networking, and tests the logic with XCTest or Swift Testing.
- Performance checksUses Instruments to investigate memory leaks, slow launches and battery drain before release.
- Accessible screensSets up Dynamic Type, VoiceOver labels, sufficient contrast, dark mode and layouts that adapt to different screen sizes.
Use cases
What you can hire iOS developers for
You might need a booking or shopping app for customers, or a private app that staff use in the field. Private distribution through Apple Business Manager and your device management setup gives the latter a distinct release path.
An existing app can need crash fixes, adaptation to new iOS releases or a move from Objective-C or UIKit towards Swift and SwiftUI. We can also work on features that use Apple Pay, HealthKit, widgets or Sign in with Apple.
Native iOS is a good fit when the iPhone experience is central or the product needs Apple-specific features or demanding camera, audio or graphics work. If most users are on Android, or the product is mainly forms and content, consider a cross-platform or responsive web app.
How hiring works
How hiring works with us
You choose the capacity and direct the work. We provide a lead who reviews code and keeps work on track, and agree how the developer will join your existing process.
- 01
Choose capacity
Hire full time, part time or for a fixed number of hours a month. The plan gives you a defined way to assign work as your backlog changes.
- 02
Join your workflow
We work in your repository, tickets and stand-ups, with overlap hours agreed up front.
- 03
Set up the product
We start with the development environment, a product and codebase walkthrough, and a small real task that touches the main parts of the system.
- 04
Share the rules
Give us your architecture overview, coding standards, branching and release process, and local setup instructions. We write down gaps found during onboarding.
- 05
Review early
Code reviews establish your standards and catch misunderstandings while changes are still easier to make.
Time zones
Working hours between Austria and India
IST is 4h30m ahead of Austria, or 3h30m ahead during Central European Summer Time, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. We work remotely over video calls, WhatsApp and shared project boards.
Agree a fixed overlap window for stand-ups and quick questions, and keep it free of other meetings. Tickets with acceptance criteria, screenshots and links reduce back-and-forth; written end-of-day updates let you catch up on progress, blockers and next steps. Handover notes record unfinished work, open questions and decisions when the two sides are rarely online together.
Rules
What an iOS project in Austria has to handle
If your app uses tracking technologies that are not strictly necessary, consent is needed before they are set or read on the user's device. We set up the consent choice and the tracking behaviour around it, so the app waits for that choice before enabling those technologies.
Remote access to personal data needs planning: India has no European Commission adequacy decision, so a transfer needs appropriate safeguards or an applicable exception. We start with individual accounts and the least permissions needed in staging, adding production access after the review process is in place; the transfer safeguards and any additional measures also need assessment and documentation.
Vetting
How to judge an iOS developer before you commit
- Give a paid taskAsk for a small SwiftUI app that loads a list from an API, caches it, shows errors clearly and includes unit tests. Review the code as well as the screen.
- Install their appsRead the App Store reviews and check update history. Regular updates and few crash complaints are useful signs of careful maintenance.
- Ask about a rejectionHave the developer explain an App Store rejection, the guideline involved and the change they made to resolve it.
- Discuss account deletionAsk how they would let users start deletion inside an app with sign-up. Apple requires that route for apps offering account creation.
Checklist
What to have ready before developers start
A little preparation gives your developer work they can pick up straight away.
- Rank the backlogDescribe the first tasks clearly and put them in priority order.
- Name the skillsSpecify the mobile experience, seniority and any legacy-system knowledge the work needs.
- Choose a contactSet out your working hours, the overlap you need and who will answer the developer's questions.
- Define doneRecord your review rules, expected tests and how work is deployed and approved.
Cost & time
What affects the cost of hiring iOS developers
The plan reflects the experience and working arrangements your backlog needs.
Seniority
Experienced developers cost more and need less supervision; junior developers need well-defined tasks and close review.
Overlap
The amount of your working day the developer must cover shapes availability and how the plan is set up.
Specialist skills and codebase
Niche frameworks, legacy systems and missing documentation narrow the available pool and slow onboarding.
Management
The arrangement changes with whether a lead plans work and reviews code or you manage the developer directly.

Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to hire a dedicated iOS developer?
There is no fixed price. A full, ongoing product backlog calls for a different capacity plan from maintenance or work that comes in bursts. Interface design support and a separate native Android codebase also change the scope, so agree which work you need before requesting a quote.
Should I hire directly or work with a studio?
Direct hiring gives you more control and takes longer to set up. A studio usually handles recruitment, payroll, equipment and cover for absence while you direct the work. You can also scale our plan up or down, or pause it when your needs change.
How do I hire a dedicated remote developer?
Start with a shared backlog that you control and review priorities with us regularly. Judge progress through merged pull requests, demos and shipped features instead of counting meetings. That gives you a practical view of what has changed in the product and what should be picked up next.
What is included in the development plan?
The plan includes regular progress updates and demos, with direct access to the team. We also use code reviews, tests and documentation to keep the work maintainable. Capacity can scale up or down as your needs change, so you can adjust it when your priorities change.
Who owns the code and project accounts?
You own the code, and we provide an NDA. Keep repositories, cloud accounts and third-party services under your organisation, and confirm the assignment of intellectual property in the contract. That keeps access and ownership decisions with you when the development arrangement changes.
Can you support the app after launch?
Yes. We handle ongoing features, fixes and improvements across your apps and website, and can work with your existing developers in their tools and review process. Release work can also use automation through Xcode Cloud, Fastlane or a CI service such as GitHub Actions or Bitrise.
