Skills
What a good full-stack developer brings
Full-stack roles vary. Before you hire, write down the front end, back end, database and hosting the developer will be expected to handle.
- Front-end developmentBuild screens that work on phones, load quickly and meet basic accessibility needs, using a framework or server-rendered templates.
- Database workChoose keys, indexes and relationships, then write migrations that can be repeated across environments.
- Security checksRecognise risks such as injection, broken access control, exposed secrets and unsafe file uploads.
- DeploymentHandle environment variables, delivery pipelines, logs and backups, with a rollback plan if a release needs to be reversed.
- Specialist supportKnow when a task needs a specialist, such as detailed interface design, database tuning at scale or cloud security.
Use cases
What you can hire full-stack developers for
A full-stack developer suits a first version of a product, an internal dashboard that combines data from several systems, or a feature that needs changes to an existing app’s database, API and screens. The role also fits SaaS work involving sign-up, billing, user roles, admin panels and email notifications.
The fit is especially useful for an early product or a small team, where work crosses layers and fewer hand-offs help decisions move faster. Check the stack before hiring: a developer who is strong in your chosen framework and database is easier to assess against the work you need done.
How hiring works
How hiring works with us
You direct the work. We provide developers who already work on our client projects, with a lead who reviews code and keeps the work on track.
- 01
Choose the arrangement
Hiring through a studio usually moves recruitment, payroll, equipment and absence cover to the studio. Direct hiring gives you more control, with more setup work.
- 02
Agree how work fits
We work in your repository, tickets and stand-ups, and agree an overlap window with you up front.
- 03
Set up access
Start with individual accounts and the least permissions needed in staging. Add production access after the review process is in place.
- 04
Walk through the product
Set up the development environment, explain the codebase and choose a small real task that touches its main parts.
- 05
Document the workflow
Share your architecture, coding standards, branching and release process, plus instructions for running the project locally. Record any gaps found during onboarding.
Time zones
Working hours between the United Arab Emirates and India
India is 1h30m ahead. The federal government working week in the United Arab Emirates runs Monday–Friday, with Friday a half day and Saturday–Sunday the weekend. Agree the overlap you need for decisions and calls around your own working hours.
Written updates keep work visible outside that overlap. An end-of-day note can cover progress, blockers and next steps; tickets with acceptance criteria, screenshots and links reduce back-and-forth. Handover notes should record unfinished work, open questions and decisions so the next person can pick up the task.
Rules
Handling personal data in a United Arab Emirates project
For a product collecting personal data, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law requires consent for processing except in listed cases and sets requirements for cross-border transfers. We set up consent capture where it is required and agree how access from India will be handled before personal data is shared.
A DIFC entity sending personal data to India needs a permitted transfer mechanism: India is not on the DIFC adequacy list. We can set up the transfer contract using an applicable exception, such as the DIFC Standard Contractual Clauses.
Vetting
How to judge a full-stack developer before you commit
- Set a small paid taskAsk for an app with a database, API, simple interface and sign-in, deployed to a live URL with a README.
- Ask about strengthsFind out which layer the developer handles most confidently and which needs more review or support.
- Check permissionsAsk how access rules are checked on the server. Hiding a button in the interface alone leaves a gap.
- Discuss an urgent fixLook for a staging check, tests, a small release and a way to roll back if needed.
Checklist
What to have ready before developers start
Prepare the work and the people who will make decisions before access is granted.
- A ranked backlogDescribe the first tasks well enough for the developer to start on real work.
- A contactName the person who will answer the developer’s questions and confirm your working hours.
- A definition of doneRecord review rules, expected tests and how work is deployed and approved.
- Early reviewArrange code reviews from the start so misunderstandings and standards are addressed while changes are easier to fix.
Cost & time
What affects the cost of hiring full-stack developers
The work you need covered shapes the hiring plan.
Capacity
A full-time plan suits an ongoing product backlog; part-time or hour-based work suits maintenance or tasks that arrive in bursts.
Working-hour overlap
More coverage of your working day affects who is available and how the plan is arranged.
Management
The plan changes according to whether a lead plans work and reviews code or you manage the developer directly.
Skills required
Define the front-end, back-end, mobile, framework or legacy-system experience the work calls for before deciding who should take it on.

Questions

Page updated 5 November 2026
How much does it cost to hire a dedicated developer?
Cost depends on the experience and specialist skills your work needs, as well as the condition of your codebase. An experienced developer costs more and needs less supervision; a legacy system or missing documentation can make onboarding harder. Share the scope so we can discuss the right plan.
How can I hire a dedicated remote developer for an existing team?
You can bring us into your existing development workflow. We work with your developers in your repositories, tools and review process. Agree how you will measure progress too: merged pull requests, demos and shipped features give you a clearer view of the work than meeting attendance.
Can I change or pause the development plan?
Yes. You can scale the plan up or down, or pause it as your needs change. This helps you adjust capacity when priorities shift. Use the shared backlog to keep those priorities visible and review them with us regularly.
What is included in the development service?
The service includes regular progress updates and demos, code reviews, tests and documentation. You have direct access to the team doing the work. For the technical workflow, discuss the tools used for version control, testing, delivery and error tracking alongside the work in your backlog.
Who owns the code and project accounts?
You own your domain, content and code, with no lock-in. We provide an NDA and hand code ownership to you. Keep repositories, cloud accounts and third-party services under your organisation, and confirm the assignment of intellectual property in the contract.
Can you support the product after launch?
Yes. We provide ongoing support after launch and can help with new pages, interface updates and design system work. Our launch process covers domain, email, analytics and search setup, so you can discuss what needs continued attention after the product goes live.
